Biography of Agnieszka Holland
Agnieszka Holland is a Polish director who has also worked in various countries in Europe and the United States.
She graduated from the directing department of the Prague Film Academy FAMU in 1971, where she was an assistant to director Krzysztof Zanussi. She made her debut in 1975 with the television series "An Evening at Abdon's" and one of the novellas in the film "Pictures from Life's Other Side".
Early Works
Holland's early works include "Sunday Children" and a novella in the film "Screen Tests" (Zdjecia probne, 1976), "Something for Something" (1977), "Provincial Actors" (1978, winner of the FIPRESCI Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1979), "Fever" (Goraczka, 1980), and "A Lonely Woman" (Kobieta Samotna, TV film, 1982, released in 1988).
